Reporting in One Church Software is powered by a separate data warehouse which contains a denormalized version of your live data. This helps provide you with unparalleled speed when running the reports.

The data warehouse automatically refreshes when any record is modified. Checks for changes are made every 30 minutes. Any report in the system which uses the data warehouse is clearly marked with a message. The contents of which depend on the state of the data warehouse.

The refresh icon next to the time of last refresh will update the message only. This is different from the "refresh now" button which will affect the data warehouse.

In Sync

The message will appear in green signaling the data warehouse is 100% in sync with the live data. This means all the data in the system is also in the data warehouse.

Pending Changes

The message will appear in yellow once the live data and the data warehouse are out of sync. The system will automatically sync everything together at the next check.

Updating/Repopulating

The message will appear in blue when the data warehouse is currently being repopulated or updated.

Manual Refreshing

The data warehouse automatically refreshes when any record is modified. Checks for changes are made every 30 minutes. You can manually refresh the warehouse by clicking on "refresh now" in the warehouse message. A pop up will appear where you can either Update or Repopulate.

Updating will sync the live data and the data warehouse as of the last time they were synced. Users will still be able to run reports while the data warehouse is updating. To update, click on the big "Update Now" button. This is the recommended action.

Repopulating will completely clear the data warehouse and then import all the live data again. Users will NOT be able to run reports while this is happening. Depending on the size of your database, this could take a while. To repopulate, click on "Repopulate instead?" in the bottom left. A confirmation will appear. Click on "Yes" to begin repopulating.
