How do I download a person's giving statement?

Describes how to download a person's giving statement.

Updated over 8 months ago

You will need the Limited Read Contributions permission to perform this action.

Please note: this article describes how to download giving statements for individuals. If you are interested in downloading business giving statements, read this article instead.

Navigate to the person's profile and click on the "Giving" tab. Then make sure the "Transactions" sub tab is selected. Then click on the "Download Giving Statement" button.

A pop up will appear with the following fields.

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) will only appear if the user has the Full Read Contributions permission.

  • Transaction Period - the time period of the transactions to include in the statement. If none of the built in time periods suit your needs, select "Custom" to enter a specific date range. The default is "Current Year."

  • Include individual line items? * - If yes, details of each transaction will be included. If no, only the total amount given will be displayed in the statement. The default is yes.

  • Include non-deductible transactions? * - If yes, payments to non-deductible funds will be included. If no, only deductible contributions will appear. The default is no.

  • Statement message * - the message to appear at the top of the statement. Use this field to add a personalized message for the person. This message is automatically saved so that it can be reused the next time a statement is downloaded.

Other options include the following:

  • Include non-deductible form payments

  • Include totals for each designation

  • Include pledge progress

  • Always use address on donor's profile (if any)

Click on "Download" once you fill out the fields to download the giving statement.

Grouping

The transactions included in the giving statement are based on the family settings of the person's profile.

You will need the Limited Write Contributions permission to be able to edit the family settings for a person.

People marked as "Combined" will have their contributions grouped into a single contributions statement. People marked as "Individual" will always get their own statement. Changes here will be saved to the entire family.
