How do I add groups to my website?

Describes how to embed a group listing on your church website.

You will need the Full Read Groups permission to perform this action.

Two options are available to display groups on your website: Hosted Page URL and Embed Code. Both are produced from the same Web Embed dialog inside the Groups module.

Open the Web Embed dialog

  1. In the left-hand navigation, click Groups.

  2. Click the Web Embed button at the top of the page (next to + Add New).

3. The Group Listing Web Embed dialog opens.

Choose Hosted Page or Embed Code

Use Hosted Page if you want a link or button on your website that opens the One Church Software listing page. Click Copy next to the URL.

Use Embed Code if you want the listing rendered inline on your website. Click Copy next to the script tag and paste it into your site's HTML where the listing should appear.

Note: Some sites that load page content dynamically (e.g. Squarespace 7.0) need the <script> tag moved into the <head>, with the <div> left where the embed should display.

Customize what's shown

  1. (Optional) Filter which groups appear: under Default Filters, choose Group TypesAll or Specific (with multi-select).

  2. Click show embed options to expose the design controls.

  3. Adjust Embed Design colors: Background, Title, Text, Box, Accent, Border, Button.

  4. Toggle the Show checkboxes to control which fields appear in the listing: Filters, Images, Meeting Frequency, Description, Type, Category, Leader(s).

  5. Use the Preview at the bottom of the dialog to verify the look before copying the embed code.

Branding and public visibility (optional)

You can customize the look of the hosted page as well. Click the gear icon at the top right of the page, choose Public Access, and switch to the Groups tab.

You can modify the Default listing title, subtitle, and background image.
