Note: Churches must first have the texting feature enabled; reference this article to learn more about allowing text messaging.

You can easily and conveniently send text messages to authorized check-in people directly within the check-in system. You can use this to contact parents or guardians regarding their child such as any help that is needed, medical emergencies, encouragement, and more.

When sending a text message, you choose from a pre-configured list of saved messaging templates. These can be managed under Events > Check-In > Messages from the left-hand menu. The system comes with a list, but those can be edited and deleted if desired and new ones can be added as well.

From within the check-in system, to send a message, go to a previously checked-in guest and a new text message icon will appear. Each checked-in person would have their own messaging icon and clicking on this icon means you are sending a text message related to that specific person. In other words, any template variables contained in the message (i.e. the name) will be replaced with information about that particular person.

Note that a station pin is required to send a text message. The next screen will show recipients, a list of templates to choose from and a preview of the message. The person who checked them in will be selected by default.

When you are ready to send, click on the "Send Message" button. A confirmation message will appear to confirm this action before sending.

By default, the ability to send text messages is enabled if no session is being used. However, when using check-in sessions, this would need to be explicitly enabled which can be done by editing the session on the event and checkmarking the "Can send text messages?" option.
