How do I set my member privacy settings?
How do I set my member privacy settings?

Describes how to set up information that is displayed - or not displayed - within the people directory to protect sensitive information.

Updated this week

To set privacy settings to protect sensitive information in One Church Software, log in through your member portal, click your name in the upper right-hand corner, and select privacy settings.

If you need help locating your login portal, visit www.onechurchsoftware.com and click "Login" in the upper right-hand corner. Then enter the email address affiliated with your church.

Consider sharing as much information as you feel comfortable. No data will be shared if the visibility setting is set to "Unlisted".

These are the fields you can choose to be shown to Everyone, My Group Members or Church Leadership Only:

Everyone - anyone with a login and access to the directory can see this data.

My Group Members - only members of an interactive group can see this data. Church leadership can as well.

Church Leadership Only - only church leadership can see this data. This is the most private setting. Leadership is considered users with the "Limited Read People" permission.

Fields:

  • Gender

  • Birthday

  • Age

  • Marital Status

  • Anniversary

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Language

  • Occupation

  • Emails

  • Phones

  • Addresses

  • Social Networks

Tip: If you want to just show the birthday without the age, display the age to "church leadership only," and the birthday to "everyone." That way, when a "guest" user sees a profile, they can see only the birthday.

You can also modify your profile information to be "Unlisted" in the People Directory. This is done by selecting the "Listed" or "Unlisted" header beside your name or by choosing "Update Privacy Settings" from the "Actions" button.
