How do I manage 1099s for a business?

Describes how to handle 1099s for businesses.

Updated over a month ago

One Church Software doesn't offer built-in features for managing 1099 forms or tracking the necessary information for them. It can't automatically generate 1099s, calculate amounts, or keep records of payments specifically for 1099 reporting.

While you can add a custom field to a business profile to mark a vendor as a 1099 recipient, this is a manual workaround and doesn't integrate with reporting.

Recommended Steps:

1. Go to a business profile

2. Click on General > edit section

3. Click on the "Add new custom field" button

4. Click on Yes/No

5. Input 1099 as the Label

6. Click on Add.

7. Click on Save

8. Finished product

The existing vendor expense report in One Church Software includes all vendors, regardless of whether they're flagged for 1099s. Because the report doesn't recognize the custom 1099 field, it won't filter or isolate 1099 vendors. You would need to manually review the entire vendor expense report and use your custom field to identify the 1099 vendors yourself. Essentially, the custom field is just a tag, not a functional part of the reporting.
