How do I bulk-add people to a group?

Describes adding people to a group in mass.

Updated over 8 months ago

Users will need Reporting and People Mass Change permissions to complete this function.

Churches often need a way to add several people to a particular group, and One Church Software provides an easy and efficient way to do so.

Go to "Reporting" in the left-hand navigation menu, and click on "Query Builder"; make sure you are on the "People" page.

Once there, you can choose a variety of Filters, on the left of the page, to extrapolate data and then adjust the Query, located in the middle, accordingly. Columns, located on the right, can also be added, deleted, and replaced, but this won't impact the people who are added to a group.

Once you are satisfied with the filters, query, and columns, scroll down the page, choose the "View Results" button, and then select the Actions drop-down button. From there, you will see in the list an option to "Manage Change."

Preparing to Do a Mass Change

A pop up will display, like in the screenshot below, in which you will click on "--perform action profile--" dropdown menu and select "Add To Group" in the "Rosters" section.

Type and then select the appropriate group you wish to add the people.

A pop up displays that lets you choose the member type, whether they should be admins, and the date the people should be added to the group. Once you are satisfied, click on the "Done" button.

A series of pop ups will display, asking you to approve the mass change; click on "Update X Records" on the one pop up and click "Yes" on the other.

Congrats! You have just mass-added people to a specific group.
