How do I bulk-add people to a group?

Describes adding people to a group in mass.

Users will need Reporting and People Mass Change permissions to complete this function.

Churches often need a way to add several people to a particular group, and One Church Software provides an easy and efficient way to do so.

Go to Reporting in the left-hand navigation menu, and click on Query Builder; make sure you are using the People data source.

Once there, you can choose a variety of Filters, on the left of the page, to extrapolate data and then adjust the Query, located in the middle, accordingly. Columns, located on the right, can also be added, deleted, and replaced, but this won't impact the people who are added to a group.

Once you are satisfied with the filters, query, and columns, scroll down the page, click Run Query, and then select the Bulk Actions button. From there, you will see in the list an option to Mass change.

Preparing to Do a Mass Change

As shown in the pop up, click on Perform an action.

On the sidebar, select Add To Group.

Type and then select the appropriate group you wish to add people to.

A pop up displays that lets you choose the member type, whether they should be admins, and the date the people should be added to the group. Once you are satisfied, click Done.

A series of pop ups will display, asking you to approve the mass change; click on Update X Records on the first pop up, and then enter the number of records being changed as shown in the box of the second pop up and click Continue.

Congrats! You have just done a mass change to add people to a specific group.
