How do I import a template into an existing service plan?

You will need the Full Write Service Plans permission to perform this action.

Typically, a template would be chosen when creating new service plans. However, there may be times when the need would arise to import a template into an existing plan afterwards. To do this, go to the service plan and then Actions > Import template in the upper right.

A pop up will appear to choose a template to import. Note that only templates for the service type of the plan can be selected.

To preview a template, click on "View template" under the dropdown with that template selected. Also, choose which portions of the template to import.

A few things to keep in mind when importing a template:

  • Existing data on a plan is not deleted or replaced. Importing a template always adds information.

  • If importing the order of service (i.e. the Items option), the line items are added to the end of any that are currently on the plan.

  • If an imported team and position is already on the plan, the higher quantity is used.
