How do I install a Brother printer?

Describes the steps needed to get a check-in station to print using Brother printers.

Updated over 9 months ago

Brother printers only work on the iOS/Android check-in apps. If you would like to print to a Brother printer from an Windows/MacOS station, use the "Print To Station" feature.

Supported Printers

Brother QL-810W and Brother QL-820NWB with 62mm continuous labels (DK-2205) which are 2-3/7" (or 2.4in) in height. This is the only label type supported and is required.

This printer can run from a portable battery! (optional)

Install the Printer Drivers

This can be done very easily from a Windows computer. To download and install printer drivers, visit their website: http://install.brother.

During the installation process, make sure to connect the printer to your Wi-Fi network as the iOS/Android apps connect to it using the IP address of the printer.

Set Up Printer in App

Launch the check-in iOS/Android app. If you haven't done so, make sure to set up the station using these instructions.

To connect the app to the Brother printer, first make sure the Brother printer is turned on and is connected to the same Wi-Fi as the iOS/Android app. Next, tap on the cog menu in the lower right and choose Printer Settings.

A pop up will open and start scanning for Brother printers connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the device. Any that are found will be listed. Tap on the one you want to connect to and then tap on the Save button.

Note: if the printer was just turned on, it may take a few minutes before it becomes discoverable on the network.

Once connected, the app will automatically connect to this printer each time it opens if possible. You can change the printer if needed by tapping on the Printer Settings again.
