Updated over 2 months ago

Let's discover how to create a Sunday Service plan. This step-by-step guide will equip you with the knowledge and tools to effectively plan and execute your worship services, from creating the order of service to scheduling volunteers.

1. Access the Service Planning Module

Navigate to the "Service Planning" module in the left-hand menu.

2. Create a New Service Plan

  • Click on the "Add New" button.

  • Specify the following details:

    • Type: Select "Worship Service" or another appropriate type.

    • How Many: Indicate how many service plans you want to create at once.

  • Date: Choose the date for your Sunday Service.

3. Customize the Service Plan

  • Order of Service: Add items to the order of service.

    • Click the "Add Item" button.

    • Choose the item type (e.g., "Song," "Announcement," "Prayer," "Sermon").

    • Enter the specific details. For example:

      • Song: Title, artist, and lyrics.

      • Announcement: Content of the announcement.

      • Prayer: Type of prayer (e.g., "Opening", "Intercessory").

      • Sermon: Title, speaker, and outline.

  • Notes: Add specific notes or instructions for each item. For example, you might note a particular verse to focus on during a song or a specific topic for the sermon.

  • Attachments: Upload any relevant documents. For instance, you could upload song lyrics, sermon outlines, or PowerPoint presentations.

4. Set Up Teams

  • Navigate to the "Groups" section.

  • Select the specific group for which you want to create or edit a member's position.

  • Click on the "Members" tab within the group.

  • Find the member for whom you want to create or edit a position and click on their profile.

  • Look for an option to manage positions.

  • Add a new position or edit existing positions as needed.

  • Navigate to the "Volunteers" section or a specific event or ministry where volunteers are managed.

  • Look for an option to manage volunteer positions or roles.

  • Add new volunteer positions by specifying the title, description, requirements, and any other relevant details.

  • Edit existing volunteer positions to update the information as needed.

  • Consider categorizing volunteer positions based on the type of service or ministry area to make it easier for volunteers to find opportunities that match their interests and skills.

5. Schedule Volunteers

  • Volunteers: Assign volunteers to specific roles within the service. For example, you might assign someone to lead the music, another to handle announcements, and another to assist the pastor during the sermon.

  • Use the "Serving" feature to assign volunteers to specific tasks.

  • Set reminders or notifications to keep volunteers informed.

5. Send Service Requests

  • After assigning volunteers to all needed positions, click on the "Send Requests" button in the upper right of the Serving tab.

  • A pop-up will appear, allowing you to indicate who should be sent this serving request. If text messaging is enabled on your account, you can also choose to send a text message, provided the volunteer has a mobile number on their profile.

  • Volunteers do not need a login to respond to serving requests; they can do this entirely without access to One Church. However, having a login will allow them to view the associated service plan.

  • Once the requests are sent out, volunteers with a "Not Contacted" status will change to a "Pending" status, indicating they have been notified.

  • Volunteers who have a Pending or Accepted status will be granted read-only access to the service plan, allowing them to see the order of service and who else is scheduled on that plan (pending and accepted assignments only).

6. Preview and Publish

  • Preview the service plan to ensure everything is in order.

  • When you're satisfied, publish the plan.

Additional Tip:

  • Templates: Create templates for recurring service elements to save time.
