How do I create a Sunday service event?

Effectively create and manage events for a Sunday Worship Service within One Church Software, improving communication with the congregation.

Create an event

  • On the left-hand menu click on Events > Calendar > Add New or on the top page or go to "+ New" on the top of the page > Event.

  • Enter the following information:
    ​

    General:

    • Name: Enter the title of the service, such as "Sunday Worship Service."

    • Date: Enter the month and day for the start date and end date

    • Times: Enter the time or times.

    • ​Calendar: Choose a public calendar to host this event.

    • Reoccurrence: Select this, and configure the details of a recurring event, such as once a week, twice a week, etc., and for how long

    • Visibility: Is Public?: Controls whether this record can be shared

      publicly via a link.

    Details:

    • Description: Enter details of the service

    • Address: Enter the location of the service

    • Optional:

      • Listed?: Controls whether this record is visible to guests or unauthenticated users when listed anywhere online or in the app.

      • Category: Select the categories this event applies to or create a new one.

      • Campus: These are the campuses/locations that this event will appear to by default. If none are selected, it will appear to everyone.

Put an image or graphic with the event

Once an event is created, add a graphic or image to the header. Hover over the calendar graphic, and click on the pencil icon.

Publish and promote the event

  • Publish the event to make it visible to the congregation and guests, and also share and promote on a website and as a link.

  • This may involve making it public on a church website or the My One Church App, or sending out email notifications.

Use of check-in

  • Use the event to check people into the event or take attendance.

    • Check-in System: Set up check-in stations and search for people by name and phone number.

    • Attendance Tracking: Mark people as present within the event.

  • Use recurring events for weekly services to save time and ensure consistency.

  • Regularly review and update service events to ensure accuracy.
