You will need the Link Bank Accounts permission to perform this action.
One Church Software partners with Plaid to connect to most major banks. Once your bank is connected, your bank transactions import into Accounting automatically. Plaid is the recommended way to connect your bank.
New bank transactions import automatically several times a day.
Your accounting stays up to date with money coming in and going out.
Bank rules can categorize incoming transactions for you. See How do I create banking rules to speed up the review process for imported transactions?.
Connect your bank with Plaid
Go to Accounting > Banking in the left-hand menu, then click Link Accounts at the top of the page.
In the Connect Your Bank window, click Connect New Institution.
Follow the Plaid prompts to find your bank, log in, and choose the accounts to connect. Your bank login is never shared with One Church Software. To learn how Plaid protects your information, see Plaid's safety page.
Back in One Church Software, choose the register account that each bank account's transactions should go into.
Choose how much transaction history to import. The default is the last 12 months. How far back you can go depends on your bank.
Click Save.
Historical transactions can take a few minutes to arrive. After that, One Church Software checks for new transactions several times a day. Imported transactions wait on the Banking page until you categorize them. See How do I categorize imported bank transactions?.
Warning: Bank transactions can only import into register accounts. These are asset or liability accounts, such as checking or a credit card, with Use as register? checked in your chart of accounts. Once an account is linked to a bank through Plaid, it must stay a register.
Change or remove a connection
To connect more accounts or change which accounts sync, click Link Accounts again. If transactions stop importing, or you need to remove a bank, see How do I unlink or reconnect a bank account?.
If your bank won't connect
If you can't find your bank or the connection fails, see Plaid's troubleshooting article. For more help, contact Plaid support or visit the Plaid help center.
If a bank that was working stops bringing in transactions, see What do I do if my bank account via Plaid isn't bringing in transactions?.
If Plaid doesn't support your bank, see How do I connect my bank with Stripe?. You can also bring in transactions from a file your bank provides. See How do I import bank transactions from a CSV file?.
