How do I import a ChordPro chart into the Chord Chart Editor?

Describes how to import and auto-interpret ChordPro chord charts from PraiseCharts or SongSelect into the Chord Chart Editor.

You will need the [VERIFY: permission name] permission to perform this action.

One Church Software can automatically read a ChordPro chart file and turn it into an editable chord chart — no need to retype chords and lyrics by hand. ChordPro charts can come from PraiseCharts or SongSelect, wherever a ChordPro file is available for the song.

Importing a ChordPro Chart

To import a ChordPro chart:

  1. Go to Service Planning > Songs from the left-hand navigation menu.

  2. Choose the song, then go to the Arrangements tab.

  3. Click Edit Chord/Lyrics Chart to open the chord chart editor.

  4. Click the Import ChordPro button, then choose PraiseCharts or SongSelect as the source.

  5. Select the ChordPro file for the song. One Church reads the file and fills in the chord chart automatically, including chords, lyrics, and section labels (like Verse 1, Chorus, Bridge).

Tip: Once imported, the chart works like any other chord chart in One Church — it transposes automatically to every key in the arrangement.

Reordering and Duplicating Sections

One Church detects each section in the imported chart (Verse 1, Chorus, Bridge, and so on) and lists them separately in the editor. This makes it easy to build the exact song structure your team will play without retyping any lyrics or chords.

  • Reorder a section — drag the section into the order you want it to appear on the generated PDF.

  • Duplicate a section — use the [VERIFY: icon/button name] next to a section to repeat it (for example, repeating the Chorus after every verse) without retyping it.

Changes to section order and duplicates are reflected immediately in the PDF preview.
