Yes. Our free native mobile app is available on both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, and it is included with a One Church Software subscription.
There is one app on the stores that every church using One Church Software shares. A member installs One Church, chooses your church once, and from that point the app carries your church's logo, colors, menu and screens. Very little in the app is fixed. When it opens, it loads your church's design and renders it, which is why your staff can change a screen and members see the change without waiting for a store release.
The app your members use
What members can do in the app
The app ships with nine built-in feature areas. Your church switches on the ones it wants and links to them from the menu or from a button on a screen, so no two churches' apps look the same.
Sermons - browse by series or speaker, watch or listen, favorite, take notes, and download resources your church attached.
Events - a searchable list or a month calendar, with directions and event registration.
Groups - find a group and sign up. Members of a group get a workspace with roster, events, files, attendance and notes, depending on their role.
People - your church directory. This one needs the member to be signed in and to have directory access.
Giving - choose an amount, a designation and a frequency, then complete the gift on your secure giving page.
Serving - see serving dates, respond to assignments, ask for cover, and read service plans.
Forms - open and submit any form your church published, with a signed-in member's details filled in already.
Inbox - the history of everything your church has pushed to that member, with an unread count.
Pre Check-In - check a family in ahead of time and arrive with a scannable pass.
What is new in the rebuilt app
The current app is a ground-up rebuild. The feature areas are broadly the same as before, and the experience around them is new:
More ways to sign in - Sign in with Apple on iOS, plus Google and Microsoft single sign-on, and a two-factor step built into the app.
Light and dark mode - each member chooses System, Light or Dark. The app builds both palettes from your church's colors, so there is no dark mode to design.
Three languages - English, Spanish and Korean, covering both the app's own wording and text your church wrote in the builder.
An optional app lock - a member can require Face ID, Touch ID or a fingerprint to return to the app.
Notification controls - a channel toggle and quiet hours, set per device and enforced on the server.
Offline support - screens a member has already opened keep working without a signal, with an offline banner across the top.
Better on tablets - a wide or landscape tablet gets the side menu permanently docked instead of the phone layout.
App Preview for staff - view an unpublished design live on a real device before members ever see it.
Accessibility and feedback - haptics, reduce-motion support, and text that scales with the device's text size.
Members update the app they already have
The rebuilt app ships under the same names and listings on both stores, so members do not install anything new. They update One Church from the App Store or Google Play in the usual way, and the church they selected before is remembered.
What your church sets up
What your church controls
Three things are yours to set, all from Mobile App in the left navigation menu of One Church Software:
Identity - your church name, logo, menu icon, the icon members see in church search, and your loading screen.
Theme - four color anchors on the General tab, from which the app generates a full light palette and dark palette.
Content and navigation - your home screen, any number of extra screens built from content blocks, and the side menu that ties them together. These live on the Builder tab, which is available with the App Builder add-on.
Publishing is instant. Screens, menus, colors, logos and which features are switched on are all data, so members pick up a published change the next time they open or refresh the app. Only changes to the app's own code need a store release.
Why a member might not see a feature
When a member asks why their app does not have something, the answer is nearly always one of three things rather than a fault in the app:
Your church has not switched that feature on.
Your church has not put a menu item or button that points at it.
The member is not signed in, or does not have the permission that feature needs. The People directory is the one menu item the app hides by role.
Using One Church in a browser
Separately from the app, the One Church Software web portal works well on a phone or tablet and is designed to feel like an app on any device. Every feature of the system is available through a mobile browser, and a shortcut can be saved to the home screen for quick access.
