How do I find the amount of processing fees for online giving?

Describes where to find the total processing fees charged on online payments and other electronic contributions.

Processing fees for online giving are tracked in several places throughout One Church, so you can find the level of detail you need whether you're checking a single transaction or reconciling an entire deposit.

Transaction Listing

Open the batch containing the payment under Contributions > Batches, then view the list of transactions inside it. Each transaction row includes a Fees column showing the processing fee charged for that specific payment.

Covered processing fees

When a donor covers the processing fee on a gift, a heart icon appears next to the Paid amount in Contributions > Transactions. The heart means the donor covered the processing fee, and the amount shown for that transaction includes the covered fee. A transaction without the heart did not have a covered fee.

Tip: When matching a gift with the heart to a bank deposit, use the amount shown in the transaction, which includes the covered fee.

Batch Summary Report

Go to Reporting > Report Library in the left-hand menu (or click the Reports button from Contributions > Batches) and run the Batch Summary report. This report breaks fees down in a few ways:

  • Batch Overview – shows the Total Fees across all batches included in the report

  • Designation Overview – shows fees per giving designation

  • Payment Method Overview – shows fees per payment method

  • Source Overview – shows fees per source the payment came from

Contribution Query Builder

For custom, ad-hoc reporting, open Reporting > Query Builder > Contributions in the left-hand menu. Add Fees as a column, along with any filters you need (date range, designation, batch, etc.), to build a report tailored to what you're looking for.
